Are You Ready to Transform Your Life?

Yoga Alliance Registered School since 2004 with over 475 graduates!

"Master teachers Harshad and Uchita have a gift for making the ancient teachings of yoga relatable and accessible to everyone. Their integrity is second to none and they live what they preach every day. I'm so thankful I chose to do my 200hr teacher training with them!"

The 200hr Intensive is more than an entry level teacher training program. This is a classic yoga teacher training in which students gain in-depth instruction in asana, pranayama, anatomy & physiology, strong alignment principles, & traditional philosophy, providing a solid foundation to teach yoga as well as deepen your own personal practice.

Utilizing state of the art techniques in stress reduction and mindfulness, as well as current research and data in brain and behavioral science, as well as the wisdom of the yoga tradition, this program ultimately creates the power to lead and help others from personal exploration and development.

As an integrated practice on and off the mat, this program becomes a catalyst for physical healing, psychological growth, and spiritual awakening.

Curriculum

The 200 Hour Curriculum includes the components required by Yoga Alliance for certification. In addition, this unique experiential course includes an in-depth personal development. We will journey through the classic 3-stages of practice:

1-Attention to detail and alignment
2- Willful holding
3- Surrender.

The course will challenge the student to honestly assess where they are in life (Stage 1), build awareness and intensity while holding (Stage 2), and finally surrender (Stage 3), surrender in to a flow, of postures and of life.

Philosophy

Includes an introduction to Yoga Philosophy, Kripalu Yoga, Patanjali's Eight Fold Path of Ashtanga Yoga, the Bhagavad Gita, Chakras, meditation, and more.  In addition, we will hear from some of the contemporary teachers of yoga and yoga philosophy.  Finally, we will compare these philosophies with their parallel in science, and how they support each other.

Asanas

You will learn 30 introductory level postures in-depth including benefits and contraindications; current assisting technology; a full range of warm-ups and adaptations to support a variety of yoga students.  As well, to understand how to introduce simple movements and awareness in the body, for those who are compromised or marginalized.

Pranayama

Students will learn four yoga foundational breathing practices and how to apply them to a yoga practice. We will also explore how the energy body relates to the breath, and why you would develop a deepening pranayama practice.  Breath is a key foundation for changing the stress response in the body, and we will clearly assess our own breath, and in turn be able to assess and support others.

Anatomy & Physiology

The curriculum covers traditional Anatomy and Physiology including the skeletal and muscular systems. We will also look at the cardiovascular system, nervous system, digestion and elimination, and more.  In this section, we have an opportunity to solidify the reference information and sources of current research and science.  In addition we will explore the energy body, and how its non-physical components influence our physical body and well being.

Teaching Methodology

The teaching methodology covers: how to assist, leading stage 1 postures (willful, eyes open focused practice), creating a centering, basic meditation techniques, cultivating spiritual maturity as a yoga teacher, sequencing, a Beginner's Series, and variations and adaptations.  As well, the methodology around the pranayama practices, and finally the principles of delivery, and the techniques of touch.
